On April 28th, the Pioneer Electric Board of Trustees voted to implement the proposed Feb. 2021 Storm Recovery Charge on members’ bills over a 36-month recovery period. The new charge will assist in recovering costs incurred to Pioneer Electric during February’s “Winter Storm Uri”. The average member will see a slight increase in the bill of approximately $8 (per 1,000 kWh of usage) per month. Costs are calculated with electricity used between February 1-28, 2021. Members’ usage may vary.
The new charge will be listed under the “Current Activity” portion of most members’ bills beginning in May. Members belonging to invoicing groups of 18+ services will see the charge listed under the “Misc. Charges”.
Additionally, members who wish to pay their total storm recovery charge in one payment may do so once billed. Please contact Pioneer Electric’s office to get your total storm recovery charge and make a payment.
