Pioneer Electric’s board of trustees is comprised of nine individuals, tasked with looking at the state of the cooperative during its monthly meetings. While traditionally elected at Pioneer Electric’s annual meeting in September, a board of trustee position will occasionally become available due to retirement or resignation. Pioneer Electric’s board of trustees is currently seeking to appoint an individual to its open District 7 seat.
Cooperative trustees play a pivotal role in ensuring that the cooperative is operating at its full potential in order to meet our members’ needs. Each trustee acts as a representative and voice for their defined district. They heed the counsel of the cooperative’s staff and listen to members to make decisions that ensure reliable and safe service and sustain the overall health of the cooperative.
Members interested in applying to be a cooperative trustee must be an active Pioneer Electric member, meet the qualifications established by the cooperative’s bylaws (page 6) and reside within the open seat’s district. District 7 is an at-large position, comprised of Districts 1 & 2. Those interested in applying must submit their application no later than January 10, 2024. Application packets may be obtained at Pioneer Electric’s headquarters located at 1850 W. Oklahoma in Ulysses.
