UHS Library Receives $4,200 H.U.G.S. Grant to Update Seating

Representatives of the Pioneer Electric Helping Us Give to Society (H.U.G.S.) program presented a $4,200 grant to the Ulysses High School Library on February 10, 2026. The grant will allow the library to update student seating.

“Our goal is to offer a comfortable, welcoming, and updated space for everyone in our school,” said Jennifer Burns, Ulysses High School Librarian.

The school plans to purchase four new club chairs with funds from the grant.

Schools and other non-profit, tax-exempt organizations are eligible to apply for Pioneer Electric’s H.U.G.S. grants via the application on the cooperative’s website.

“H.U.G.S. is an opportunity for Pioneer Electric to give back to our members in ways that support the communities we serve,” said Ruby Terrazas, H.U.G.S. team member. “H.U.G.S. is a great opportunity for organizations looking to make positive changes in their communities.”
