Pioneer Electric Cooperative’s Helping Us Give to Society (H.U.G.S.) team presented the Morton County Community Coalition with a $1,635 grant for the purchase of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) at the town’s 988 kiosk.
“The AED is imperative when considering the age of our population and travel time to the nearest emergency service,” said Crystal Bashford Morton County Extension Agent FCS/4-H
Bashford stated that placing the AED at the kiosk (located at Richfield City Hall) will allow it to be available 24/7 for residents.
“H.U.G.S. is about giving back to the communities we serve and helping them build a brighter future,” said Ruby Terrazas, energy services coordinator. “Projects like the Morton County Community Coalition AED are why H.U.G.S. was developed.”
H.U.G.S. grants are available for community projects within Pioneer Electric’s service territory that meet the criteria outlined in the grant application. To learn more about Pioneer Electric’s H.U.G.S. program, or download the application, visit www.pionereelectric.coop.
