Pioneer Electric Hosts Another Successful Safety Fest

Pioneer Electric Employees, David Norton and Dee Longoria, greet members at Safety Fest.

Ulysses, KS-  Pioneer Electric and Pioneer Communications was proud to host over 650 for 2019’s Safety Fest celebration at the Grant County Activity Center.  Safety Fest is a yearly collaboration of the two companies and serves as an interactive opportunity to educate and promote safety within southwest Kansas.

Safety themed booths and activities greeted the public and attendees freely explored all that the event had to offer. These were manned by 17 local businesses and organizations and they shared information, provided giveaways and gave presentations.

New to this year’s event, Pioneer Electric added bucket truck rides to the experience. The opportunity served as a chance for the community to ride up in the bucket of a service truck and get a bird’s eye view of the event. The cooperative brought the rides to the event after receiving positive feedback after their debut at the Grant County Fair, this past summer.

Closing out the event was a free hot dog feed and various prize drawings. Youth had the chance to enter into drawings for either scooters, basketball goal, Nintendo Switch or tablets. The remaining tickets were then put towards the grand prize drawing of tickets to Parrot Cove indoor water park, in Garden City.  Pioneer Electric would like to thank all who joined us and those that partnered with us to make the event possible!
